Prince Jack: The True Story of Jack the Ripper.
Frank Spiering
Jove. 1978. 222p.
ISBN 0-515-05496-8. paperback. $2.25.
Casebook Review:
This book encapsulates everything that is negative in the history of the Ripper literature. Spiering almost certainly
fabricated much of his evidence, including the existence of a journal of Sir William Gull's which he claimed to have found tucked away
in a New York medical library (no other author has found it, Spiering refuses to comment). "Prince Jack" is an
obvious publicity stunt and should be avoided at all costs.
