Evening Star (Washington, D.C.)
17 January 1889

The report that the Whitechapel murderer had been arrested at Tunis arose from the arrest of an English vagabond named Alfred Grey, whose height, age, and general aspect corresponds with the description of the Whitechapel murderer published in the newspapers. Grey still remains in custody.
