I was just wandering if anybody had any clue on to when Richard Whittington's new novel called "Quest for Jack the Ripper" will be released. I've heard it's supposed to be good.

Steve -

The book is actually not a novel. It is titled The Quest for Jack the Ripper: A Literary History, 1888-2000 (or at least, was the last I heard, so please bear with me), and traces the various books, pamphlets, magazines &c. that have attempted to name Saucy Jacky over the last hundred-odd years. It will be published by Patterson Smith of New Jersey, but because of various factors (RWEs illness, frequent amendations and corrections to the MS and simlpe communication difficulties), the book's publication date has been continually pushed back.

I understand from a fairly well-connected source that it should be available by the Liverpool Ripper Convention in August; if it is, then reviews will be forthcoming on this website and in all the Ripper magazines.

And, yes, it will be good.
