Hi everyone,
James Blenkinsop, nightwatchman overseeing roadworks in St James Square adjacent to Mitre Square was approached by a respectable dressed man at 1.3o am on the morning of the 30th sept, and asked Have you seen a man and woman pass through here?.
Question who was this man?.
Many people will say so what..there would have been many couples out that night, but as this the precise time that Lawande and associates were leaving the club , and then observed Eddowes and without a doubt her killer at the entrance to church passage, it would imply to me that it is entirely possible that this respectably addressed man was looking for that couple.
So question is why?.
I would suggest that it could have been an accomplice or more likely a off duty policeman that may have followed Eddowes after she was released from the cells, for it was common practise that women alone or in the company of males should be observed at that time of the morning. and this police officer lost track of her when in the vacinity of the square.
This would account for the question Have you seen?.that Blenkinsop was asked.
I have often wondered why the police were hesitant to give out imformation after the discovery of Eddowes , infact they put up a wall of silence, no wonder if one of their police officers made a tragic mistake.
Could this be the unnamed witness at the well documented seaside home?.
The above post is pure speculation but is an explanation for Blenkinsops visitor.
Regards Richard.
