St. Louis, Jan. 4.
An insane man giving the name of John Arthur Burns, is under arrest here for having
attempted to murder a woman in a disreputable house in Clark avenue. Burns says that he
came direct from Hades, and that he was ordered by God to slay this woman for her
impurity.
