CLERKENWELL - Police-inspector Maynard, of the G Division, reported to Mr. Hosack that the woman Sarah Ann Kelly, alleged to have been stabbed in the neck by her husband, James Kelly, on Thursday evening, at Cottage-Lane, St. Luke's, died at half-past ten o'clock on Sunday night, at St. Bartholomew's Hospital. On Saturday afternoon the dying woman's statement was taken down in writing at the hospital. She spoke with extreme difficulty, and was at times almost inaudible; but she corroborated in the main the evidence already given on oath by her mother, when the Prisoner Kelly was charged with attempted murder. Kelly, when next he is brought before the magistrate, will be charged with willfully murdering his wife, to whom he had only been married a little over a fortnight.
