ASSAULTING A CONSTABLE.

Jeremiah M'Carthy was charged with assaulting Henry Lamb, 252 H. - At 10 minutes past 1 o'clock that morning the constable was on duty in Cable Street, when a seafaring man complained of being assaulted by some men who had attempted to rob him. While speaking together the prisoner came up to him, used foul language, and struck him a violent blow on the jaw. - Mr. Lushington sentenced the prisoner to 10 days' imprisonment.
