I have read quite a lot about the comparison of the writing in the diary to that of The Boss letters and to James Maybrick's will. Does anyone know if the handwriting of the diary has been compared to the handwriting of either Michael Barrett or Ann Graham?

Actually there was a 65 % chance that it was the same ...but this was not supported ...at the time of the tests. There was also other peices of James`s hanwriting compared ...and they didnt match each other (59%) even tho they where supported by others to be authentic.

Keith,

I would be interested to know where these percentages coming from. My understanding is that handwriting analysis is a very subjective subject and doesn't really allow the assignment of probabilities in that way.

Could you provide any details on who did the specific analysis you are referring to? Also, which document compairisons are you referring to? Anne's writing/the diary or the Dear boss letter/the diary?

Regards,

John Hacker

John

I have indeed quoted some sites that perported to be genuine in their study on the handwriting analysis of the Dear boss letters and the Diary ...also the letters of normal correspondence which didnt match from one letter to the next. The clincher for me as far as the handwriting goes was the comparison between the Dear Boss Letters and his James Will. which could not proove beyond reasonable doubt that it was or wasn't James Maybrick althought the sites in question are now defunct ..(thanxs to a recent msn purge) they are as i recall approximations of the test results by one of the testies!!

Tonight on Sky, U.K. Hallmark channel, 11:00pm.
Sherlock Holmes tries to nail The Whitechapel Vampire. Good for a smile, but Sherlock is also very good for scenery and costume
