Am I to take it that you support the blues, Jim?
I hope you are just as ecstatic come the end of the season, when you are digging out and dusting down all those old A to Z's for places like Burnley, Nottingham and (in a few season's time) Northwich Victoria - the very same end of the season when the red half of Manchester will be holding aloft the European Cup.
Come back and gloat when you've won 7 premiership titles in 9 years and don't forget the European Cup too.
It's a shame that it means more to you lot to beat us than to do well in the league, typical that you should raise your game for your "cup final".
Having said all that ... we could have had Anelka, we signed Forlan. We could have had Rivaldo, we signed Veron. We could have had Buffon, instead we signed Buffoon (Barthez) - so, all in all, we only have ourselves to blame.
On another note, I once had the pleasure of sitting in the same cinema as Shaun Goater, watching 'Jeepers Creepers' - Shaun was much scarier than the film!
Would you consider swapping him for Barthez and Veron plus cash?
Congratulations on the victory, remember though - pride comes before a fall.

For all Americans here, did you happen the see the ending to the LSU / Kentucky game? Proof that you never give up and play all 60 minutes! I have to say that quality of win is determined more by coming from behind that by totally dominating your opponent for 60 minutes. With the exception of the overtime issue, it was very similar to the Pittsburgh / Atlanta game last night.
Go Tigers....Defending SEC Champions.

Forget America versus Iraq ...this is war!
I repeat:
7 championships in nine seasons when apparently we carried all these players: Phil Neville, Gary Neville, Andy Cole, Jesper Blomqvist etc etc.
So what you are admitting is that we were capable of winning 7 out of 9 championships with only half a team? Sounds good to me ...
Phil and Gary Neville are class players with honours to their names. Show me a Liverpool, Man City or Leicester player with championship medals to their name and I'll show you someone who goes to car boot sales.
Keep watching the table and I will guarantee you this: We'll finish above Liverpool, Arsenal, Man City (ain't difficult) and be champions again.
Then the small matter of the European cup. Who did Liverpool draw in the second round? Oops, they aren't even in it.
What about Leicester? Do they still run the Zenith Data Systems Vase Trophy malarkey thing, or did Northwich Victoria get tired of winning it year on year?
Everybody loves a loser, so it seems.

Well, one of them was a £28 million Argie, one of them's team didn't make it (van nist), one of them was out with a broken foot (gaz nev), Forlan had a blinder, Beckham shouldn't have gone etc etc.
How many players did the blues send to the world cup? I don't mean as spectators or commentators.

Hi all Londoners,
I read that the exhibition "Body worlds" is taking place in "the rooms of the old Trumans-brewery in East London"
Is this the Hanbury street location by any chance?
I know that this kind of exhibition is highly subjective, I saw it in Cologne and I personally think it is very informative, very esthetical and a must to see.
Publically dissecting a body though is a different matter.

Hi, All:
Liverpool F.C. versus that "other" Liverpool club, Everton F.C., later today. The sides have been playing each other since 1893, the year after my grandfather was born. It's a Derby game, so always an intense rivalry, with spills and thrills. In recent years, my side, Liverpool F.C. has been much the stronger side but we have been slipping in recent weeks so that Everton have overtaken us in the table, so the match today will be a needle match.
I will be watching here in the U.S. on pay TV. For which of the sides will it be a Merry Christmas?  Now that little dancing man should be a red man not a blue man! 
Considering my recent mention of the Beatles on this board, I thought some of you may be interested in this new poem of mine about Lennon and the other boys in the early days in Liverpool, poignant with the recent anniversaries of the deaths of Lennon and Harrison:
Four of Us
Like four brothers, only Ringo was the last to join,
six years after I met Macca at the Woolton parish hall gig,
the Quarrymen, skiffle music, washboard stuff, Lonnie
Donegan's "Rock Island Line," chewie in the corner
of my mouth, quiff falling over my eyes, we were Teds
lugging our guitars on the green Corpie buses.
Not yet kings of the world, we were Scouser princes,
playing the Jacaranda, Casbah, New Brighton Tower.
As the Silver Beatles we Mach schau in Hamburg:
George just a kid with older us, a little bruv,
ciggies in the funfair at Astrid's photo op,
the "Peadles" at the Star Club, I give the Nazi salute.
On the Reeperbahn, bouncers broke up drunken sailors
with coshes and gas-pistols; Ringo bashed the drums
with Rory Storm and the Hurricanes, had to have him in,
so Pete was out, Ringo in, caused a riot at the Cavern.
Girls threw jelly babies as we toured Britain;
later Stateside, jelly beans hit us like bullets.

As an aside, I had a couple more lines which spoke of John Lennon's assassination but fellow poets felt they were unneeded. The jelly beans/bullets line possibly hints enough of the sinister side of fandom and of Lennon's murder.
It has been commented that this poem reads as a companion piece to another poem that I have written about Andy Warhol and that mention's Lennon's assassination. You can read it and a love poem I have written at--

A win against QPR; a draw at Tranmere. Ho ho, it's going to be a good Christmas for the Magpies. Bring on Barnsley.

No offense mate, but you weren't playing football in those days, more like rugger without handling the ball. It wasn't until the intervention of Queen's Park, Vale of Leven, Renton & Dumbarton, developing the passing game, real football as we know it today appeared.
