LOL...speaking of carpet..we are actually removing all the carpet this weekend and having wood put in throughout the downstairs. Red Virginia mud and doggie paws just don't mix. Kenzie's latest trick is springing straight up in the air and nipping Stephen on the chin. I find it hilarious but Stephen is less than amused. I love my dog.
David,
I would definitely suggest to anyone that they should get a dog. We got Kenzie fully grown from the pound and she is a great dog. Sure they shed and shred and chew and wait until your back is turned to sneak attack your lunch, but they also dig up your flowers in a helpful attempt to re-landscape your lawn.

You and Spry are not making the mutt act as a pack animal on Appalachian trails or giving rides to local Virginny tots, are you, possibly to raise funds for the Ripperological Preservation Society? Conceivably in a vain effort, inspired by the recent A&E airing of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's The Lost World, to mount an expedition to recover Walter Sickert's lost remains? Those precious remains destroyed, so the naive public believes, to the fires of cremation?!!! A cunning plan, Spry and Ally! Soon you and Ms. Cornwell can announce to a shocked world that she has the definitive Sickert DNA to fit him forever hereafter with the bloody mantle of You Know Who!

Ally is that his hardest stare if so he would be no match for my Cavalier King Charles who I call Jasper but he simply ignores me unless it means I've got food for him
He does a good job of keeping birds out of the garden I always thought that was a cats' job

Heya Steve.
I know what a runaway teacher is...that's 85% of all first year teachers who don't make it back for year two.
As for a runway teacher, the only thing I could think it would be is someone who teaches models to walk down the runway though I think they would be called coaches. Being a hunchback with a bad dye job, I've never had a need for that.
Actually, I have no idea what it is. Where'd you hear it?

the sentence went something like
The police decided to interview JonBenets' Runway Teacher so it would have something to do with beauty pagents

What an adorable puppy! If were there, I'd hug it and pet it and kiss it.
I would like to suggest Moonwater as a name. It has a wonderful, poetic sound to it. Water was discovered hiding in dark craters by the Clementine probe a few years ago,and it is hoped that astronauts may some day be able to make use of it. The puppy seems to have a kind of an eerie, black, brown and white color scheme, something like the moon, as well.

Well those are all better than the current front runner which I won't say here since there is such a ban on naughty words. Puppies are really cute but my god, give me a full grown dog any day. Stephen just had to have a puppy so why am I the one up all night with her? Life is so unfair...
I like Mina mostly because I like two syllable names that end in a vowel for dogs. I've found that they just respond better and more quicky to those. I could call her Freddie or Moonie though.

"Come ere Sit Down" he'd bellowed.

I'm a big fan of making pet names follow tradition (my cats Bailey and Emma picked up English names that were similar to the first syllables of mythical underworld dieties), so here are some traditional female names from Hawaiian myths:
Papa (yes, Papa is a goddess), Hina (probably a dimunitive form of "Woman"), Kawea, Kelea, Pele (as you already mentioned), Wahine ("Woman"), Haumea ("Sacred Birth" a goddess of heat and multiple forms, said to have "lived like a dog" for a while), Lailai ("Calmness"), Ipo ("Sweetheart"), Huhune ("Dainty"), Laumihe, Maila ("Beautiful"), 'Olohe ("Naked" or "Hairless"), Kapop ("Expected Day"), Moana-liha ("Ocean-Edge"), and Halulu.
There might be something salvagable in that.

More puppy picture...yes I know I am obsessive. Kenzie and Diva's first snow day. Oh yeah we ended up calling her Diva due to her drama queen tendencies.
They aren't really good pictures mostly because I couldn't get the little buggers to sit still long enough to snap. Digital cameras aren't swift with action shots.

Greetings, all:
I am proud to announce that I am the proud new Mummy of two adopted ferrets, named Silly and Fang. Silly is a butterscotch ferret, 2 months old, and Fang is a sable ferret, 6 months old.
Both Mummy and babies are doing fine, going to the pediatrician, er, vet tomorrow. Will post pics as soon as I get them.

Reminds me of a Cat I had when I was young called Charlie boy.
I will see if I can figure out how to scan some pictures of my own extended family of Jessie, Willow & White Pants ( P.W.P ) .
My Janey is the Whizz at this so I will probably have to Grovel to her.

I loved those pictures of Kenzie & Diva in the snow.
We recently had Half an inch here and the whole country came to a halt ( As always ).
Our own pets wouldn't go out in it, although Jezabel sat on the doormat and sniffed the air for a few minutes.
