It looks like Laci Peterson (who's scheduled to deliver her child today) is probably dead--her unborn child too, but nobody really knows anything.

It occurred to me--the airwaves and talk boards are full of speculation about what "happened" to her. So much of the contemporary speculation about JTR's identity is likewise speculation, and no more constitutes "evidence" than the current speculation re Laci Peterson does.

Don't we give the contemporary speculation about the Ripper too much credence?
