Dear Chris:

I agree. Now... do the silly walk. You know you want to.

Warm regards,
Divia

Hi all, we are all JTR readers on here so why not do the research first hand and write about it together like our own project with a bit of expert help of course.
Problems:
1. Money
2. Expert help
3. Getting a publisher
if you can help or want to be involved email me at jacktheripper@bushinternet.com
you got to admire my ideas

Is "who" a typo for "why" Ashleah? If so, the answer is, because it's badly bound: a matter over which we have no control. If not, I have no idea what you mean.
All the best,
Martin F

Hi Asleah - Make that VERY badly bound!

Hi Monty - I think you'll find there's a David Cohen board on the tree where I hope I have made a comprehensible explanation. If not, the clearest account of my activities and thinking I've ever published is the essay in Jakubowski & Braund's 'Mammoth Book of Jack the Ripper'. Failing that, if you genuinely try or have tried those sources and are still stuck, and you appeal again on the boards, I'll try and get a simpler posting up. Only it may not be for some time, as term descends next week, and I shall probably vanish from the boards again until next summer.
All the best,
Martin F

By all means, Stephen Can you get my e-mail address from the moderator, copying this over as permission? I don't publish it because (e.g.) Keith and I both suffered increasingly harassing anonymous letters vis-a-vis the Ripper when somebody got hold of our addresses; I once, to my complete disgust, received a regional fascist (BNP or some such) journal delivered to my house; Paul got stuck in endless correspondence with some one who not only thought Donston did the murders seeking invisibility, but actually mastered invisibility! So I'm wary about laying myself open to unknwon Ripper correspondents.
All the best,
Martin F

Martin,

I was joking.

I have already read your piece the the 'Mammoth book' and consider it to be only one which comes close to satisfying this mystery for me....come on, you know that already dont you ?

This is the reason for my sleepless nights. The reasoning and execution, the descriptions and statements. surely I am not the only one that does this, you know how it goes, you remember Mrs Cox's statement just as you are putting on your jimmys and it goes around in your head until before you know it, its 4am.

I may lead a sad and worthless life living like this but I enjoy it....you make me think.

On a personal note, may your work be fulfilling and may your wound heal quickly..................
.... and for Gods sake........hurry back !

Take care,
Monty
:)

Monty -

A man of your taste and erudition (gad, I seem to be jumping on the bandwagon too!) no doubt has heard Martin's talking tape The Truth About Jack the Ripper in which he lays out the David Cohen case so beautifully and with the full power of his Oxford don voice that my wife said "I don't believe it, but I love the way he says it!" If you don't have a copy, let me know and I will make you one (thereby stealing royalties from the Fido household, but there it is. . .)
