"An East Wind Coming" by Arthur Byron Cover
Another Holmes VS Jack the Ripper book, but in this case all the characters are godlike immortal humans who have based their personas on archetypes from literature. In other words, Holmes and the Ripper aren't the real deal, but people in the far future who have adopted those identities. Once you get past that point, the book is excellent. I recommend this one very highly-- with the proviso that the reader will only enjoy it if they happen to like a great number of different types of writing; from great literature to comic books, pulp magazines, penny dreadfuls, etc.
