Although I did enjoy this movie, as most Ripperologists agree, it was historically incorrect.

I have one more comment about why. The use of the Lobotomy. I work in Health Care and the Lobotomy was not used until the 1930s, and was first used in Germany and the USA, not England.

This procedure simply not invented at the time of JTR.

Otherwise, I did enjoy Depp (although he looks nothing like Aberkine was supposed to and of course Det. A never committed suicide.) I think if we can take this movie as entertainment and not much more, we will enjoy it better.

I agree. I thought the cinematography was excellent, though. A few factual errors got on my nerves but I thought, aside from that, the movie was great.
