This is where Frederick Abberline lived in Clapham in South London. It's the house with the satelite dish.

I'm sorry this is nonsense. I can believe Abberline had satellite TV - but a 2004 model car?

Hi Bob-
This only goes to prove beyond doubt that Fred Abberline and 'The Doctor' are one and the same!!!Hence the belief circulated at the time that JTR was a medical man!
Case closed!

Super!
And what an intriguing idea Suzi!
I wonder whether the chappie who followed the mad Doctor ( You mean the Lees reference) did live near him after all?
So much covert Police work. Will we ever catch up with them?

Robert,

What's the modern address? I may be going to London in Feb/March and would like to have a look.

Thanks,

Andy S.

Sorry Andy, I don't know if the road has been re-numbered, or even maybe re-named. Stephen would probably know.

Hi Robert/Andy,

It seems that a Mayflower Road London SW9 still exists, it is off Clapham Road a short walk from Stockwell tube station, but I don't know about the numbering.

Thanks, John. I'll have a look if I do make the trip next year.

Stephen, the modern number...is it the same?

Andy,

Re-numbering of houses in London streets does occur but only when absolutely necessary, for instance where there has been substantial demolition of old properties. Mr. Hitler also was responsible for a lot of re-numbering. Mayflower Road where Abberline lived looks to me like a perfectly 'intact' Victorian street so I am 99.99% certain that the house I photographed is indeed Abberline's house. Enjoy your visit.

Best Wishes.
