Hi all,

just found this short but interesting german article from October '88:

"Warning to emigrate to England
The priest of St. Bonifacius Church in London wrote a letter to all catholic newspapers in Germany and Austria, in which he urged to warn the people to emigrate to England. In touching words he describes the misery , which is awaiting everyone who goes to England without proper planning and wants especially the priests to point the attention of the inhabitants of their parishes to this bad situation."

There is no doubt that it is a direct result of the Ripper-murders.
I try to track down the letter of the priest - might be of interest.
