ENGLAND:

London, October 8.
Yesterday a discovery was made in a part of the city, infamous as the scene of so many crimes. In Deal Street, in the Whitechapel district, a number of workmen were engaged for some days in a house which has just been built. Yesterday, when they had removed some rubble, they found a wooden chest which roused the men's curiosity as to what it might contain. They immediately opened it and discovered that it contained the fleshless bones of three adults.

Everything indicates that some terrible crime has been committed. The area has been the scene of some of the terrible murders which have been attributed to Jack the Ripper.

The police are investigating.
