The East River Hotel Murder

New York, April 25.
Two men are under arrest for connection with the murder of Carrie Brown in a hotel Thurday night. A pair of trousers supposed to belong to either "Frenchy" or the other man arrested were brought to the station this morning The spots on them may be blood stains. They answer the description of the trousers worn by the woman's slayer and were found in a Bowery lodging house, where they had eebn left yesterday morning. The man who left them, it is known, frequented the East river hotel where the murder occurred.

New York, April 25.
The deputy coroner has concluded an autopsy on the remains of the woman murdered by Jack the Ripper this afternoon. The only fact of importance was a disclosure that the mutilations were evidntly made while the woman still lived, and it was apparent that the struggle of the poor wretch prevented the butcher from fully completing what he originally intended, the removal of certain organs. Inspector Byrnes tonight made a statement to reporters to the effect that while the police have not yet arrested the murderer, they know who he is and hope to have him in custody before long. The murderer is a cousin of "Frenchy" or Francois Algernon, who was arrested last night. It is known that Frenchy spent Wednesday night with the murdered woman and stayed at the hotel on the night his cousin perpetrated the horrible crime.
