A St. Louis Ripper Crank

St. Louis, Jan, 17.
For two weeks past the demi-monde of St. Louis has been persecuted by a letter writer who signs himself "The Seer." He has been threatening them with physical and moral destruction of the most fiery character, and the women by the score have been appealing to the police for protection. Not only did he threaten them with swift judgement from on high, but said he would call around and do a little "Jack the Ripper" business. The chief has fifty of these letters in his possession, and Tuesday, after a long hunt, ran down "The Seer", who proved to be a religious crank. His name is William Breenan. A woman was arrested with him.
