GENERAL NEWS.

A man named Robert Fullerton was fined at Belfast Police Court on Tuesday for shouting in a leading thoroughfare that he was "Jack the Ripper." Another man has been arrested in the same locality for the same offence.

At the Newcastle Assizes on Saturday Benjamin Dunnell, 35, labourer, who some weeks ago made an attempt on the life of a woman he lived with, with the threat that he would "give her Whitechapel," was sentenced to five years' penal servitude.
