In a long article about Vacher, there was this illustration of him which I thought might be of interest
The article will be put in the Press Reports when done

You probably have read the book by Alexandre Lacassagne, Vacher l'eventreur et les crimes sadiques (Paris, Masson et Cie, 1899)-- if not I recommend it, it is full of photographs of Vacher and his victims, and a complete rundown of all known victims and suspected victims, circumstances of the attack etc. Lacassagne interviewed Vacher before his execution and was involved in his "treatment". Interestingly, now that I look over the case, it resembles both the Cleveland Torso murders and the "Ripper" case. BJ

Are there any used book dealers you know of who have copies of this book?

Joseph Vacher was a grovelling self indulgent evil character. He was dragged to his execution like a cowardly vile mongrel. His execution was far too kind. Torture would have been more appropriate for this grovelling swine.
