I have to start with a guilty admission. Whenever I watch a detective program or murder mystery on TV I am thinking about how they solved it and if the same reasoning could be applied to Jack.

I saw one last night where the criminals had committed a number of home invasions, and they were looking at the calendar like we have, trying to see patterns and they found gaps like we have. Then somebody suggested that maybe the same criminals were committing other crimes on other days. Sure enough a check of the records revealed that similar criminals were doing carjackings. The gaps in the calendar were filled.

Maybe Jack went out every weekend. But he didn't kill and mutilate every weekend. Maybe sometimes he just assaulted and beat up the prostitute, or strongarmed them for their money. Maybe some of his murders were the plain vanilla type and so didn't get attributed to him.

Crime comes in many flavors and he might have done other things.

Ive little doubt Jack tried to accost other prostitutes. For various reasons he didnt kill/attack them. I specifically wonder about the night of Chapman's murder. He killed late that night.

Ive often suspected he tried unsuccessfully to pick up another prostitute earlier that evening.
