Hi, I'm sorry if anyone has posted something similar to this, I either couldn't find it or was looking in the wrong sub forum!

I feel very daunted by asking this, seeing as you all know so much about Jack the Ripper, but how much did the police really know about Jack the Ripper? I'm asking because of school work, and out of pure interest.
