Hi all
Especially Jane,Nats,Lyn, Nina, Jenni and anyone else of course! Come on boys!!!!!!!!

........Right following a rather ancient post I did on Artworks etc suggesting a book small and precious of all the artwork and poetry that had been posted on the boards not just artwork but poems and writings and maybe just thoughts that we all feel to be maybe....just ours...just a sort of 'Diary' with all our JTR images in whatever form in it.
Can I propose (c/o Jane reminding me!) we all make one (no bigger than A5) presented as preciously and personally with all our images, photos, paintings, poetry or just scribblings,as we can without including personal pix and then just number them and put them all on the table at Brighton and then maybe take some time to read them and suggest as to who they may belong?

Oh I dont know.am soooooo excited about this.....what d'ya think?

Am scrabbling for stuff here but think this could be a lovely thing to do..............

Hi Suzi

That sounds like a really nice idea.

Don't call it a Diary though - might be a few punch-ups.

Hi Suzi,

As a newbie, I'm being very brave doing this, because I know I'm going to get beaten about the head and neck, but I think it is a really good idea. We might have to put an 18 certificate on some of them though! (Bound to get published then) and get quite a bit more interest.!

love Jane

Hi Suzi,

Sorry it took me a while to get back to you, I’ve been celebrating my anniversary!
I think you have a great idea brewing! Not sure what I can contribute, I don’t consider myself a poet or an artist (Only one art class to date) but October is quite a while away and hopefully I can come up with something.
What size is A5?

Suzi. Robert has just echoed what i was telling you about how hard it was to discerne some of the details from the pictures. I see Millers Court, the condoms and is that a fuse going to your bookcover to blow it up, just in case nobody appreciates your efforts. .

Suzi,
I did see your postings of yesterday and love the colouring. However like Robert and Ken point out its quite difficult to see the subject matter of these collages unlike your other ones of Mary and Millers Ct.Is it because they are quite small to begin with or is it because you want to have this slightly ambiguous imagery?I wondered too whether the first two are for the book jacket itself?

Hi Nats
Yes they are little and verrrry ambiguous! God knows what they mean but are just feelings! The first one is the cover and the next 2 are the next 2 pages!
God praps I may just hide with this until Brighton!

Hi Suzi,
Sorry I couldn't back sooner, but I feel as if I' ve been hit on the head with a big brick!

I wish this was a 3 D screen. Why can' t they come up with something holographic, because I desperately want to pick the book up and handle it. It's obviously as much a tactile thing as it is visual, and those pics I know don't do it justice.

If we do get to Brighton I would love to have a feel of it. (I was trying to think of another way to put that, but fondle and touch don't sound any better!)

I love the colouring too. Keep it up Suzi. Mine is going to look a bit boring next to that.

lots of love

Jane

Hi Suzi,
Thinking about your whole idea these covers are perfect! They"re fresh and vibrant but the blurring together of images suggests something to do with sprays of flowers-a fitting tribute to the victims. And the tactile stuff could signify the breaking of boundaries which put in a certain way is exactly what happened. The women were invaded and violated in every sense.
Thanks for those Suzi.Thought provoking ----and inspiring and....after several months of non ripper related painting I have started a new painting of a scene in Whitechapel in oils
so I will post all three in a week or two.Jane has certainly got everybody going again!

Thanks Nat!

That's made me feel a lot better! Have done about 14 pages now and God knows what now in extremis! Gosh am thinking now that maybe this book is just a collection of miniature paintings that should have been well just miniature paintings in their own right...Damned thing will never close and is geting a little worrying!!
Hmmmm maybe I should have done em one ONE side of the page !! Hm Oh well nothing that a Stanley knife and some determination wont sort out eh!

Lots of Love

Come to think of it Suzi, you also wrote some lovely peoms about Mary and the lost key etc..why not have such poems illustrated by a painting on each double page?[ William Blake once had something like this, quite small about 6" by 4" and each poem, including," Tiger,Tiger Burning Bright" was illustrated by himself]
just thinking about it-could be really beautiful!

Hi Suzi

Cracking stuff indeed. Do I see Kelly's face, or rather something that looks disturbingly similar to Kelly's face, in the top right corner of the first?

Don't answer that, because I knows what I knows and I knows what I sees. Which is whatever I want.

Hi Suzi,
I must admit to having some real difficulties seeing some of your imagery sufficiently clearly here even to the point of not being able to make out some of the photographs within the montages.Maybe its just this computer which is a cheap one and isnt always that clear anyway.
Having said that I love your renderings of Millers Court/White Row Car Park. The yellow daffodil
waving its head defiantly amidst the bland 20th century car park makes me think of a line in Shakespeare,"...and Daffodils that come before the swallows dare and take the winds of March with beauty.."
like Mary"s memory that has somehow braved her slaughter and turned her into legend.
A tender touch Suzi,lovely.

I very much like some of the rest, including the one of the kaleidoscope of suspects filling that same crime scene now a carpark.

But thats for another time. Thanks for these Suzi.
They are developing my streams of consciousness!

Suzi, got a tad "carried away" there[re-reading my post its a bit pretentious-Oh well never mind I assume you know I really like those pieces-thats the important bit].
Might it be possible at some point in the next few weeks to enlarge one or two of them so I can actually see the details?Dont worry if its not.Just a thought!
