I'm a Norwegian history teacher using the story of JtR as a gateway for my pupils into the general history of Britain in the 1800s. I have a few questions that I haven't found answers to on your excellent website. How large (in squarekilometers) was the area (parish?) of Whitechapel? How many people lived there, and when and how were they counted?
