On the 9th November 1988 - to celebrate 100 years of Ripperology, a number of distinguished, and not so distinguished, persons huddled together in the private bar of the Golden Hart public house Commercial Street. Whitechapel. It was the nearest licenced premises to the site of Millers Court. The gathering was honoured by the presence of Tom Cullen to whom all of us present felt an enourmous respect. This rare photograph captured a little of the atmosphere. Left to right they are: Don Rumbelow, Simon Wood(partially obscured), Tom Cullen, Paul Begg, Keith Skinner, Robin O'Dell and David Andersen (me).
We were not celebrating the exploits of the Whitechapel murderer. We were celebrating the continued search for his identity. A wonderful time was had by all. Some of us were lucky enough to be invited back to St Katherines Dock where the festivities continued.

Thanks, David. It looks like a good time; it's nice to see people getting together. Simon Wood is wearing white? If so, who is that beside him (and next to Tom Cullen)? It looks like Martin Fido, but it's hard to tell.

If anybody's having trouble opening the file, change the extension to .jpg

Cheers,
Dave
