This may have been pointed out before but I haven't seen it mentioned anywhere and, to be honest, I am not sure of the significance of it, if any. The fact is that three attacks in the Whitechapel series had close links with two neighbouring houses in George Street, later known as Lolesworth Street (see map below):

1) Emma Elizabeth Smith was registered as living at 18 George Street.

2) Martha Tabram was listed as living at 19 George Street.

3) The attack on Annie Farmer took place at 19 George Street.

Make of this what you will but it struck me as interesting.
Chris

Chris

You missed one! Rose Mylett also lived at 18 George Street under the name of Lizzie Davis.

Hi,
Also mayby more significantly, Barnett and Kelly took up residence in George street, when they first got together.
Is this all building into another coincedence?.
Richard.

Robert,
Now why would I wish that?.
The very fact that Barnett was lodging there when he met Kelly, and by his own admission , was 'Well known there' is just a coincedence is it not, even tho Tabram the likely first victim of 'Jack'lived in that very same street.
Tonque in cheek - was there a 39 George street?.wouldnt it be great if there was, and Barnett lodged there.
Dream on .
Richard.

I'd be wary of this. George St. was the centre of the Flower & Dean St. rookery. All the victims (early, late, canonical or not) lived in or around here at one time. The murderer would be just as likely to have a connection with these streets as anyone else.

To get from Mitre square to George st youd have to pass where ?

Interesting call but I feel Masser Justin has made a very good point.
